Saudi Post | SPL Transports Blood Units to Hospitals in the Holy Sites

As part of its role as a national operator during the Hajj season and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Saudi Post | SPL continues to support the healthcare sector by serving as a logistics enabler for transporting biological samples, blood units, and forensic and toxicology samples, ensuring rapid response and strengthening the healthcare system's readiness in the holy sites.

In this context, SPL provides specialized medical transport services that enhance the safety of medical procedures and ensure swift response in critical locations, in line with the demands of the Hajj season and reflecting the integration of national efforts. These services include the transportation of biological samples from hospitals and health centers within and outside the holy sites to medical laboratories for necessary testing, carried out according to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

SPL also facilitates the transportation of blood units and their derivatives from various regions across the Kingdom to the blood bank in Makkah, and from there to hospitals in the holy sites, ensuring the timely availability of vital supplies. On the public health monitoring side, SPL is responsible for transporting toxicology and forensic samples from the entrances to the holy sites to specialized laboratories, enabling prompt testing and accurate results to support public safety efforts.

These efforts embody SPL’s commitment to its national role as a logistical and geospatial enabler in supporting the healthcare sector during the Hajj season, by providing specialized medical transportation services that enhance swift response times and operational efficiency. This role aligns with SPL’s contribution to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, through the development of innovative solutions that support the healthcare system and help improve the pilgrims’ experience, by activating government partnerships and maintaining close coordination with relevant authorities.
