The Saudi Post |SPL, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has issued a SAR3 postage stamp commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
These relations, officially established in 1974, are marked by growing cooperation in the fields of economy, labor, trade, and tourism, in addition to joint efforts in humanitarian and developmental areas.
The commemorative stamp features symbols representing the cultural identity of both countries, embodying the depth of historical ties between the two peoples and reflecting the spirit of friendship and partnership. It also highlights significant milestones in the development of bilateral relations over the past decades.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah presented the commemorative postage stamp to Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh yesterday.
SPL is committed to documenting national events and the Kingdom's international relations through its postage stamp issuances. These stamps serve as a visual record of historical events and transformations, while also holding cultural value for stamp collectors, researchers, and those interested in history and national identity.
