SPL and SAL Sign a Strategic Agreement to Enhance Air Mail Handling in the Kingdom

In the presence of His Excellency Eng. Anef Abanomi, President of Saudi Post | SPL, and Eng. Omar Hariri, CEO of SAL Logistics Services, a strategic agreement was signed between Saudi Post | SPL and Logistics Services to enhance mail handling and shipment transfer operations across various regions of the Kingdom. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Nahas, CEO of SAL Ground Handling, and Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Al-Mohammed, Vice President of Processing and Gateways Sector at SPL.

Under this agreement, SAL will assume full responsibility for mail handling operations—from the moment shipments are received to the preparation of dedicated mail loading units—while ensuring the safety of shipments during their transfer between warehouses, postal facilities, and aircraft. The agreement seeks to enhance the efficiency of express mail operations and strengthen alignment between the postal and logistics sectors in the Kingdom.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Mohammed Nahas, CEO of SAL Ground Handling, stated:

“We are proud to partner with Saudi Post to strengthen integration between the Kingdom’s postal and logistics networks. This collaboration aligns with our shared objectives of serving the national economy, and by leveraging SAL’s expertise in ground handling and cargo management, we aim to process postal shipments more efficiently, securely, and reliably.”

Mr. Khalid Al-Mohammed, Vice President of Processing and Outlets Sector at SPL, explained that this partnership with SAL reaffirms SPL’s commitment as a national operator and logistics and geospatial enabler to developing the postal and logistics ecosystem in the Kingdom and strengthening its integration with strategic partners.

He added that SPL, through its extensive postal network covering all regions of the Kingdom, leads the transformation of the postal sector by adopting the highest standards of quality and security in mail processing and distribution acceleration—supporting the rapid growth of e-commerce and reinforcing SPL’s position as a key player in the national logistics landscape.

This strategic agreement represents a significant partnership between two leading national entities collaborating to develop innovative, world-class logistics solutions. It underscores the Kingdom’s leadership in adopting global best practices, enhancing service quality, and strengthening its position as a global logistics hub, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
