Saudi Post | SPL, in collaboration with Red Sea Global, has issued a commemorative stamp collection with a denomination of (3 SAR), celebrating the opening of Shura Island, the vibrant heart of The Red Sea destination. The stamps capture the island’s breathtaking natural beauty and the brilliance of the Coral Bloom-inspired master plan, reflecting a perfect harmony between innovative tourism development and environmental preservation, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
This new release builds on the remarkable success of the first collaboration in August 2021, when a collection of six stamps was issued showcasing the natural beauty and biodiversity of The Red Sea, including coral reefs, mangrove forests, and unique marine life. The Red Sea destination welcomed its first visitors in 2023 and is currently home to five luxury resorts and the Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Eleven additional luxury resorts on Shura Island are scheduled to open progressively throughout 2025, offering extraordinary tourism experiences to visitors.
On this occasion, Eng. Ahmed Ghazi Darwish, Chief Administrative Officer and Official Spokesperson of Red Sea Global, stated: “This commemorative stamp collection serves as a powerful way to share the story of our destinations with the world. In 2021, the first collection introduced The Red Sea destination and received significant attention. Today, we highlight our jewel, Shura Island, which we announced has welcomed its first guests this year.”
It is worth noting that the postage stamps issued by Saudi Post | SPL reflect the most prominent national events, including religious, cultural, artistic, and sporting occasions, as well as key international events. Each stamp captures a significant moment or commemorates an iconic scene in Saudi history, making them an ideal choice for stamp collectors around the world.
