Saudi Post | SPL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Yamamah University aimed at strengthening academic and training collaboration. This initiative aligns with SPL’s efforts to develop human capital and support Saudi Vision 2030 goals of building and enhancing national capabilities. The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarad, Chief of the Human Capital and Shared Services Sector, and Mr. Abdulrahman bin Khalid Al-Khudair, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Al Yamamah University.
The agreement includes educational benefits for the employees of SPL and its subsidiaries at the master’s degree level, as well as for their sons and daughters at the bachelor’s degree level. It also provides scholarships for outstanding high school students among employees’ sons and daughters, along with support for training programs and executive education designed to develop skills and enhance the efficiency of national cadres.
Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarad emphasized that this strategic partnership with Al Yamamah University reflects SPL’s firm commitment to supporting the Human Capability Development Program—one of the main initiatives to achieve Saudi Vision 2030. He highlighted that SPL views human development and empowerment as fundamental pillars in its journey toward institutional transformation and leadership in the logistics sector. He described the MoU as a qualitative step toward establishing long-term academic partnerships that contribute to preparing a skilled national workforce equipped with the future skills demanded by the labor market. He added that investing in national competencies ensures sustainable growth, strengthens sector readiness to keep pace with rapid changes, and reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub.
Mr. Abdulrahman bin Khalid Al-Khudair, CEO of Al Yamamah University, affirmed that this partnership with SPL represents a strategic step to enhance integration between the academic and logistics sectors, supporting human development goals and the advancement of national skills. He stated, “Through this MoU, we aim to offer specialized educational and training programs that meet future labor market needs and support the development of qualified national talents contributing to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030. We also seek to support cooperative training opportunities for university students by providing professional work environments that allow them to apply their academic knowledge practically and develop their skills, thereby increasing their readiness for the job market after graduation.
